LogicBoost Labs provides this template as a very simple model for a budget. It is deliberately only one sheet for simplicity. It is also only really designed for the first 12 months for a startup but it is a start and could be tweaked to suit as time goes on.
Our approach is to provide enough initial investment to get the startup to breakeven (around month 11 in the example above) and then grow from there either organically or with more investment from us. Also note that we have used MRR above – some startups prefer to track ARR on their deals each month and this can be done in this same sheet with a few tweaks.
Assumptions: New B2B SaaS startup that already has an MVP and is ready to start selling. Getting $150k in funding and planning to break even by month 11 before funds run out.
